Agriculture Knowledge Management Unit
The erstwhile Agricultural Research Information System (ARIS) established in 1997 at the Institute has now been renamed as "Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU)". It has been instrumental in establishment and management of Local Area Network (LAN) connecting about 70 nodes for providing internet, intranet and e-mail connectivity to the scientists, officers/ staff and students in the Institute. It has recently established 100 mbps connectivity in the institute on fibre optic cable from NKN-NIC, New Delhi.
Main Objectives
- Network, Internet, Intranet connectivity to all Scientists / Officers and staff of the Institute.
- Database development, updating, and management.
- Updation and maintenance of institute website developed in Hindi and English.
- Installation and maintenance of computers, peripherals, network equipment, maintenance of Proxy-server, and training of institute personnel.
- Support to scientists in data collection, compilation, and analysis.
- Pay bill processing.
